Homemade after bath rinses
Making your own after bath rinses can help deal with all kinds of skin problems. Bathe your
bulldog as usual and rinse off the shampoo, then use a homemade after bath rinse. These
homemade rinses are left on your dog and not rinsed off.
Vinegar rinse
This rinse works very well for yeast skin infections.
1 cup vinegar added to 1 gallon of water
pour over your dog after the bath, rub into the skin, towel dry ( do not rinse off )
Lemon rinse
This rinse works for doggy odor
cut a lemon into slices, boil in 1 quart of water for 10 minutes. Cover and let cool for 3 hours
pour over your dog after a bath, towel dry ( do not rinse off )
If you use a lemon rinse on a dark colored dog, it can lighten the hair if they spend a lot of
time in the sun.
Betadine rinse
This rinse is good for just about any skin infection
1 cup povidone-iodine ( povidone iodine is also known as betadine and can be found in the
first aid section of just about any store ) to 1 gallon of water
pour over your dog after a bath, towel dry ( do not rinse off )
when povidone iodine is mixed with water, it will be about the color of iced tea, so it will turn
a white dog a temporary off white color for a few days.
